My name is Audrey Tham, married with 2 grown-up boys. I had
retired from the workforce a long time ago to look after my kids
then. I love the outdoor and travelling, do a lot of climbing and
trekking of mountains or hills too.
Just started this blogging activity after being initiated into it by
our Backpackers Association President. What a headache it was
in the begining trying to figure out how to go about it. Widgets?
Readomatic? Never heard of it. Somehow things were not as
simple as you would like it. But I got it together at last and proud
to say it’s all my own effort (pat on the back ). What’s so great
about it? Well, all my married life has been about my family,
ferrying my boys here and there, wushu lessons, tuition classes.
Then it was college and more worries and then they graduated,
joined the workforce and now I have ample time to write. My only
contact with a computer back then was just to play some word
games and check some mail. Any free time I had would be for
mountain climbing or jungle trekking together with my husband
and members of Backpackers Association.
In recent years we had started travelling since climbing has taken
a toll on our knees. But we still enjoy climbing but not the tough
ones.
Matured blogger just love to write!!!

Thanks for reading my blog. Taiping deserved to be listed as the top tourist
destination and promoted extensively by the state government.
Dear Audrey
Yes I fully agree that Taiping deserved to be listed as the top tourist destination.
However the stakeholders (i.e hotels, eateries i.e. restaurants & coffee shops) must play their respective roles i.e to maintain cleanliness & hygiene in their premises e.g the toilets must be clean and fresh.
How often do you get to visit a clean toilet in our eateries?
The only coffee shop, which I can be proud of their toilet in Taiping, is Kong Meng Restaurant at No. 25C Jalan Kelab Cina which serves good “Tim Sum”.
Hotels – how many front desk offiscer are trained and equipped to recommend places of interest to room guests! They should double up as “tourist ambassadors” because their jobs depends on tourist dollars!
Of course the state government can promote Taiping but if visitors are not happy with the services rendered by the stakeholders, they will not recommend their friends to visit Taiping.
Thus I suggest you start a column to rate and provide commentaries on the services of the stakeholders to enable visitors to make an informed decision whether to patronize the outlets!
I hope you can also post my comments at Taiping post.
Warm Regards
Yee Seu Kai
